MADRID RESPOND TO TRANSFER BAN APPEAL FAILURE

Real Madrid superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are reported to be the new two to get new deals at the club.


In September, the La Liga giant is expected to spend as much as £350 million on new players’ deals only. It comes as a response to a lost appeal to lift the 2017 transfer embargo. This means Real Madrid is prevented from registering new players until January 2018.

The deal is also means Real are truly not done with 31-year old Ronaldo, as it means he would retire at the club. Ronaldo is expected to agree to the four-year contract that will ensure he plays until he is 35. The salary is believed to be in the region of £500,000 a week.

On the other hand, Bale has spent half the time in his 2013 contract. The renegotiation clause in the deal means he would earn more after impressing in his time so far. His fine form last term has earned him a stay at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2021, ending any possible return to the Premier League. He was key to a second UEFA Champions League title in three years. His display for Wales at the Euro 2016 confirms his status as a potential Ballon d’Or winner. He remains the future of the club after Ronaldo, and his weekly wages a little less – £400,000.

The duo to Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are also in line to get new deals after their effort last season. The Croatian’s contract runs out in 2018, while that of the German lapses in 2020, yet Madrid want to tie them down to the club. The deals for all four stars is set to be in the range of £350 million over the next six years, with Ronaldo and Bale taking the lion share.
