Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez has confirmed that the club’s record signing Gareth Bale is going nowhere just as star striker Karim Benzema.
Both players have been linked with Premier League clubs in the last few months. Those rumours have been growing intense as the close of the transfer window approaches. Bale is reportedly the target of Manchester United, who are ready to spend big once again this summer. The star was signed from Spurs two years ago for a world record fee of £ 85 million, which eclipsed that of Cristiano Ronaldo who moved from United.
After a brilliant first season at the Santiago Bernebeu, Bale has increasingly found himself being the target of fans should the results not be as expected. Due to the increasing criticism that does not appear to have reduced going into the new campaign, Bale is reportedly considering his future at the club. The arrival of a new manager in the form of Rafa Benitez appears to have changed his mind for the time being. The former Liverpool boss always likes an attacking player with a defensive mentality and this appears to have worked in favour of Bale staying at Madrid. Benitez has categorically denied suggestions that Bale would be sold.
“I’m not going to talk about offers. Everything is well and Bale’s going to have a good season with us, I’m sure. Gareth is a huge player for us and I know that he’s happy,” said the Real Madrid manager. “I think Benzema is going to stay with us. I’m very happy with him.I’ve said in five previous press conferences that I don’t want to talk about players who are in other teams. We have three very good keepers. I can talk about them, not other goalkeepers,” continued Benitez about Benzema and a possible move for David de Gea.
