While Jose Mourinho will appear to be such a pragmatic manager and a defensive-minded coach, he may still have a different side to his personality when it comes to how he coaches and manages his players.
The Portuguese manager has often been criticized for using old methods of management to hamper the attacking ability of the attackers n his team even though he has always responded to his critics with sarcasm. He has coached a lot of some top clubs across Europe, including Porto, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur. Paul Robinson has had nothing but words of praise for Gareth Bale following the winger’s sublime showing against fellow league side Southampton in their Premier League clash on Wednesday. Tottenham hosted Southampton at the Tottenham Stadium in what was Ryan Mason’s first game as the manager in charge of the London club and he saw his side overturn a 1-0 deficit to record a 2-1 comeback win.
Bale was agreeably one of the best players on the pitch on the night and he wrapped up a fine performance by appearing on the scoresheet. Robinson was particularly impressed by Bale given how hard it was for the 31-year-old attacked to start games when Portuguese manager José Mourinho was still in charge of the club. The future of Gareth Bale was in serious doubt until this weekend when he finally announced his second coming at Tottenham Hotspur. The Welsh international player had been a shadow of himself in his second spell at Tottenham Hotspur until this weekend when he announced himself with two goals and one assist during the 4-0 thumping of Burnley at home on Sunday. Gareth Bale re-signed for Tottenham Hotspur on loan from Real Madrid last year, seven years after he had left the club for the same Spanish La Liga outfit for a then world-record fee of £85.3m. Since his return to Spurs, manager Jose Mourinho has not played him regularly but that could change now after his heroics at the weekend. His performance against the Clarets would have gone a long way to convince the Spurs heirarchy about signing the Welshman on a permanent deal at the end of his loan spell this summer. He had scored one goal in the league and was looking largely unfit due to a lack of playing time until the last one week.
It has not been the happy return many envisaged for Gareth Bale when the Welsh national team star left Real Madrid last summer to sign for Tottenham Hotspur on loan for the duration of the current campaign. Gareth Bale was hardly given a game by Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane last season and he had to leave the club either on loan or on a permanent deal in search of regular first team football.
Gareth Bale is a world beater on his own but Spurs have not been able to enjoy anything close to world beater due to his fitness problems. Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has not given him a lot of minutes when he has been fit for reasons best known to him. Continue reading HOW BALE HAS FARED AT SPURS
