Journalist hints that Gareth Bale could be at Old Trafford next season

Guardian sportseditorBarry Glendenning suggests that Gareth Bale could make a Premier League return with Manchester United during this summer’s transfer window.

The Wales international suffered multiple injuries during the 2016/17 season, and this restricted him to just 27 appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, the biggest disappointment for him would have been to miss a starting role in the Champions League football where Isco was preferred on the right side of the attack.

Isco worked his socks off during the backend of the season and manager Zinedine Zidane had no choice but to start him owing to his workrate displayed during Bale’s injury absence. As a result, Bale’s future has come into question this summer with Real Madrid hot on the trail of Monaco frontman Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe is likely to cost a world-record sum in order to switch clubs in the summer, and Bale could potentially be cashed-in in order to recoup some of the funds. Alvaro Morata is the other on the outgoing list with Manchester United seemingly leading the race for his signature. WALES WITHOUT BALE AGAINST SERBIA

The Welsh national team are set to face a tough test when they face Serbia in the must win encounter to keep their World Cup hopes alive.

Chris Coleman has a difficult task as his star player Gareth Bale remains suspended for the game. This is a stern test post Euro 2016 brilliance.

Wales would need to get the results when they line up in one of the toughest stadiums in the continent. It has been months since Bale received his second yellow card so Coleman should have been working on a plan. However, Neil Taylor is also suspended, and Ben Woodburn and Hal Robson-Kanu remain doubts for the game.

Former Reds star Joe Allen, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey and Toffees defender Ashley Williams are expected to dig deep and rescue the team on Sunday. Wayne Hennessey is expected to be in goal while Ben Davies and James Chester assist Williams in defence. Continue reading WALES WITHOUT BALE AGAINST SERBIA

GARETH BALE INSISTS ON REMAINING AT MADRID

Following an impressive 4-1 victory over Juventus in front of his hometown, Welsh star Gareth Bale has promised to remain at Real Madrid come next season.

He revealed that he was happy being at the Spanish side and he committed his future to its cause.

“We are winning trophies and I am happy. I have signed a long term contract at Madrid. My family is happy and I am happy, so yes we will continue what we are doing,” Bale declared.

There were strong rumours linking the former Tottenham forward with a move to Manchester United this summer. He joined Real for record transfer fee of £85 million in 2013 but he has struggled to match expectations. His recent injury streak seemed to worsen the situation until the titles came in. One week the La Liga and the next a second third Champions League in four years. Continue reading GARETH BALE INSISTS ON REMAINING AT MADRID

RONALDO’S REST PAYS OFF

Last year, Cristiano Ronaldo’s fitness issues were part of the talking points in the run up to the Euros – the Portuguese had become more susceptible to the natural weariness that comes with averaging a 50-match per season appearance largely based on Madrid’s characteristic runs to the late stages of virtually every tournament they partake in – be it the league, the league cup or the European engagements.

Concerns such as these were hardly raised in the early and peak stages of the Portuguese’s illustrious career. Age coupled with the laws of biology meant as the he got older he had to adjust and become less physical with his play. Continue reading RONALDO’S REST PAYS OFF

UNITED BEGIN TALKS FOR BALE

Premier League giant Manchester United have reportedly opened a line of communication with Spanish side Real Madrid.

United are seeking a deal that would bring back Welsh star Gareth Bale to England after his world record transfer out in 2013.

Diario Gol says United are desperate for the services of the former Spurs star and that Mourinho hopes to convince his former club to sell the struggling player to him. The report claims Mourinho reached out to Real president Florentino Perez as he wants Bale to be his new star at Old Trafford.

United are a long time interested party but Bale could accede this time as he struggled this season. The 27-year old winger is in the race to make the Champions League final in June as he remains sidelined. He recently agreed to a new deal that would tie him up at the Bernabeu for years but reports in Spain say Madrid are mulling over the ideal of selling him. Gareth Bale to Miss Champions League Semi-Final Due to Calf Injury

Real Madrid have confirmed that Gareth Bale is set for a significant time on the sidelines following his latest injury.

The club’s record signing had to go off from the El Clasico with a calf injury. This has been rated as quite a severe injury at Grade Two. He was unable to prevent Real Madrid from suffering a 3-2 loss against Barcelona in the game. This result has reopened the La Liga title race. It has been a very disappointing season from Bale, who has managed to make only 17 starts in the league this season. Even though he has scored seven goals and created to assist for his teammates, it is far less a contribution expected from a £ 85 million player.

Bale has been injured for much of the campaign. Unlike other injuries, he has been suffering from niggling injuries that have had a stop and start effect of the 2016-17 campaign. The latest calf injury is the fourth different problem that he has suffered the season. As a result, he has missed 27 games in all competitions this season. He has spent a whopping 119 days unavailable due to injuries. Continue reading Gareth Bale to Miss Champions League Semi-Final Due to Calf Injury
