Manchester United great urges club to sign Gareth Bale

Manchester United favourite Dwight Yorke believes his former side should make their move to sign Gareth Bale during the summer transfer window. The Wales international has been heavily tipped for a Premier League return in recent weeks and Yorke feels United would be the ‘perfect addition’ for the current squad.

Speaking on 888Sport, Yorke highlighted that Mourinho should not take much time in assessing players at the World Cup with Bale being one of those suiting the club’s requirements, he said: “United and Jose don’t need to look at the World Cup. No player suits us more than Gareth Bale. Yes, there will always be some exciting candidates to look at but Bale is someone who excites me. He is the right age, in his prime, and will be the perfect addition.”

Fulham boss: Ryan Sessegnon more Marcelo than Gareth Bale

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has suggested that Ryan Sessegnon could become more of a player in the mould of Marcelo rather than Gareth Bale. The 18-year-old has turned heads across Europe with his sensational performances for Fulham and his tally of 16 goals and seven assists has put the club within a game of top-flight promotion.

Speaking to Cadena Ser, Jokanovic admitted that Sessegnon can feature anywhere on the left side of the pitch but he sees him progressing into more of attacking full-back like Marcelo, he said: “He can play in two positions, as left-back or at left wing, and that is why he is being compared to Bale. Bale also started in that position before he made the switch to become a more attacking player. From my point of view, Sessegnon can play in different roles but I honestly think he could be more like an offensive back of a big team, like Marcelo. He is an incredible player and I personally believe he will end up at a big club. We shall see.”

Welbeck set to do well that Arsenal

Arsenal recently signed Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck in a £ 16 million deal, which appears to have pleased all parties involved. Arsenal failed that they have got a striker who is capable of becoming one of the best in the league for a relatively low transfer fee. This opinion has also made midfielder Jack Wilshere taken in direct jibe at United by saying that he would be never sold for such a low transfer fee. The fact that United allowed Welbeck to sign for a rival club knowing that he will probably be playing at the top level for the next decade has also surprised many.

At just 23 years of age, Welbeck still has a lot of time left to improve. Arsene Wenger has had a history of developing players with a lot of talent but without the right knowledge to put that on the pitch. One of the best examples is club legend Thierry Henry, who was largely an unknown quantity before he moved to Arsenal. He went on to score more than 200 league goals. Wilshere has long been regarded as one of the best young talents for the England national team. However, his poor performances in recent years may even force Arsenal into selling the player.

Wilshere is confident that even if Arsenal sell him, it will not be to a rival at such a low transfer fee. “Gary Neville knows what he’s talking about. He probably said what he said because Danny’s a Manchester United boy, he grew up there. In today’s market £16m is nothing really. With the quality Danny’s got, we have a bargain. There are not many players that leave one top club for another in England, especially English players. It’s unheard of really,” said Wilshere. Van Gaal, though, said that Welbeck was not good enough for United.

Real Madrid Splashing Out

Even though the Spanish League has not even started Gareth Bale and Real Madrid already are splashing out the success they have achieved after defeating Sevilla and lifting the Super Cup in the home city of Bale in Cardiff.

It was a pretty dominating match for Real Madrid as the team of Carlo Ancelotti enjoyed having more possession, more shots at goal and just about everything in their favor. Gareth Bale was one of the standout players out of the entire pitch as the Welshman provided C.Ronaldo with a sublime cross which landed right in the space where C.Ronaldo was located as he only had to tap the ball into the net.

C.Ronaldo added another goal in the 2nd half which was the last goal of the entire match which was more than enough for Real Madrid to defeat Sevilla and lift the Super Cup trophy as Real Madrid secured their 1st major trophy of the season and Gareth Bale is expecting even more success when the season kicks off in a few weeks.

After securing the Super Cup, Gareth Bale expressed his feelings towards winning the Super Cup in his hometown at Cardiff as he said: “It was a special night for me being back in my home town. Playing in the Super Cup here, I thought it would never happen but it was great to be part of it and to win it. It’s quite surreal being back in Cardiff with Madrid but it was a night I truly enjoyed. It was a great atmosphere, the Welsh fans are always brilliant, everyone’s put on a great show and we’re grateful to win. We won two trophies last year and we’ve got one this year so we’re looking forward to the rest of the season.”

Real Madrid has spent around €110 in this summer transfer window which is the combined total after signing Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez. Having spent such an immense amount of cash in 2 players, the pressure is on to them and to the club to lift even more titles in the next campaign with C.Ronaldo and Gareth Bale expected to be the leaders in the pitch.

CASILLAS BACKS BALE

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas believes that summer signing Gareth Bale can go on to become a club legend after managing to impress a lot in the last few months. Bale was brought from Tottenham in a world-record move that cost the club £ 86 million. However, his first few months at the Santiago Bernabeu were less than ideal since he was in and out of the team due to a succession of injury problems. This coupled with the superior form shown by Cristiano Ronaldo led many to believe that Bale was going to crumble under the pressure like many of the British players in the past.

However, the former Tottenham star has recovered extremely well and has been one of the first names on the team sheet in the last few months. He has been used on the right side of the front three with Ronaldo to occupy the left. Karim Benzema has been leading the attack. Bale has managed to get 10 goals and the same number of 10 assists so far. Even though these figures are not close to the once achieved by Ronaldo, the 24-year-old has stated that he will only get better especially with a proper pre-season. The Welsh international did not have a pre-season this campaign since he was involved in the protracted transfer saga.

“Legend is a word that can be over used. But Gareth Bale has proved already he has the talent to go on and become a legend at Real Madrid. During my time here I have seen real legends like Raul, Zidane, Ronaldo, and now Cristiano. Gareth is not out of place in that company, not at all. He is a young guy and if he spends his best years here then he can join that group of names. He must play a big part in Madrid winning trophies,” said Casillas.

UNDER PRESSURE

Gareth Bale’s astronomically high €77 million price tag puts a lot of pressure and expectations on the former Tottenham player and the Welshman has not been enjoying the best of seasons with Real Madrid as he has missed a number of matches for the Spanish club due to injuries.

The former player and manager of Real Madrid, Jorge Valdano has surely not been impressed by the performances displayed by the Welshman as he even stated that Bale is being saved by his teammates during the bad moments of Bale.

“Bale has a rare anxiety because he doesn’t seem to be with the pace of the game. When you’re anxious, you play at a speed above what suits you, but he is absent. The team saves him. There are many points of attention, including Jese, who is going unnoticed in Bale’s bad moments.” Valdano said regarding the arrival of Bale to Real Madrid.

Jese Rodriguez is a 20 years old forward that has been stepping up to the plate and scored a few important goals for Real Madrid. He managed to find the back of the net during Real Madrid’s match against Atletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao and against Villareal just to name a few of his most recent contributions to the Spanish club.

When Jese was asked about who Carlo Ancelotti decides on placing in his starting lineup, the Spanish striker stated that everything he does is work hard in order to make the decision of the coach tough.

Jese said: “What the coach said about choosing for sporting, not institutional, reasons was very important. I try and persuade him in training and during matches. In this club every game is a test. You need to make it tough for your teammates too. They would do it too if I was in the starting XI.”
