Zinedine Zidane wants Gareth Bale playing regularly after injury

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane wants to see Gareth Bale contributing regularly on the playing field after recovering from a recurring calf problem. The Wales international has been sidelined twice this season due to the injury, and this has restricted him to just four starts in the Spanish top-flight.

Bale made his much-awaited return during the Copa del Rey round of 16 first-leg versus Numancia, and he found the scoresheet via a spot-kick in a 3-0 win. Following the game, Zidane was pleased to have the Welshman back in the ranks, and he is hoping to see the attacker play a regular role during the second half of the campaign.

Real Madrid will be patient with Gareth Bale through injury problems

Sky Sports pundit Terry Gibson feels Real Madrid must remain patient with Gareth Bale despite his ongoing injury concerns. The Wales international was expected to recover from a calf problem earlier this week when he picked up a thigh strain which could keep him out of action for at least six weeks.

As a result, the 28-year-old has featured in just 20 of Real Madrid’s last 60 games, while he has suffered 11 different injuries since his switch to Spain back in the summer of 2013. Speaking on Sky Sports, Gibson felt that the European champions could prolong with the services of Bale with elite clubs unlikely to take a gamble with constant niggles.

Ian Rush would love to see Gareth Bale at Liverpool

Liverpool legend Ian Rush feels Gareth Bale would be an ideal choice for the Reds, should he decide to seek a return to the Premier League. The Wales international is currently in the ranks of Real Madrid, where he has won the Champions League in three of the last four seasons.

Speaking at the 2017 FAW McDonald’s Kit Handover, Rush claimed that Bale is in the right place for the moment and his stay with Los Blancos would benefit the Wales national side, he said: “From a Welsh point of view, I’d like him to stay, to get more European experience. That will benefit Wales. Any English club would want Gareth Bale.”

Real Madrid star Casemiro defends Gareth Bale after boos from fans

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has defended fellow teammate Gareth Bale, who was booed by Los Blancos fans for the second game in a row.


The Wales international bagged two assists in the 3-0 Champions League triumph over APOEL Nicosia, but he still received a chorus of boos from the club’s supporters.

Bale was substituted in the 82nd minute to be replaced by Borja Mayoral, and he was met with by a cacophony of whistles, although his teammates tried to silence them with a round of applause. Following the game, a number of Los Blancos players came in the Welshman’s support with Casemiro insisting that the attacker remains influential to their style of play.

Speaking to Marca, he said: “He was a very strong player for us and I hope he continues to be so. We try to protect the players we have. We are always defending our own. It shows that we are a family. I defend my team-mates as if they were my family and I am with them until the end. WOULD BALE SUCCEED ON PL RETURN?

There is increasing speculation that Gareth Bale could move back to the Premier League this summer if his current employer Real Madrid successfully lure Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.


Bale has not contributed as much as expected following his record £85 million move from White Hart Lane in 2013. With his reported salary of £600,000 per week – net £350,000 after tax – Madrid might cut him from the squad.

Isco has been brilliant in Bale’s place and with a teeming reservoir of local talents; the Spanish side might shift things to another direction. Bale’s tenure at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu has been mixed. His calf injuries might not allow him reach his zenith and as he ages he would likely contribute lesser while earning more. During Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure when the club ended up trophy-less, Bale was jeered by a section of the fans and since returning he has not impressed as much.

With Jose Mourinho’s Man United team focused on returning to being a football superpower, Bale’s addition would be a big plus. The Red Devils tried signing the Welshman in 2007 when he moved from St Mary’s to White Hart Lane. They were serious with signing him four years ago as well but Bale preferred the move to Spain. Kylian Mbappe is one of the most sought out youngsters in the world of football as the French attacker is only 18 years old but has already been highly praised for what he has done with his current club As.Monaco in the previous 2016-17 season.


It was during that season when Mbappe managed to showcase his skills as he scored 15 goals and provided his teammates with 8 assists which is impressive for a player that is 18 years old.

The 2016-17 season of Ligue 1 reached it´s end on May 20 of 2017 and from there on out, clubs began to show interest in signing the rising star. Real Madrid, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are the top clubs that have been attempting to secure the services of the French player who has already been compared to the likes of his retired country mate Thierry Henry.
