Manchester United great urges club to sign Gareth Bale

Manchester United favourite Dwight Yorke believes his former side should make their move to sign Gareth Bale during the summer transfer window. The Wales international has been heavily tipped for a Premier League return in recent weeks and Yorke feels United would be the ‘perfect addition’ for the current squad.

Speaking on 888Sport, Yorke highlighted that Mourinho should not take much time in assessing players at the World Cup with Bale being one of those suiting the club’s requirements, he said: “United and Jose don’t need to look at the World Cup. No player suits us more than Gareth Bale. Yes, there will always be some exciting candidates to look at but Bale is someone who excites me. He is the right age, in his prime, and will be the perfect addition.”

Fulham boss: Ryan Sessegnon more Marcelo than Gareth Bale

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has suggested that Ryan Sessegnon could become more of a player in the mould of Marcelo rather than Gareth Bale. The 18-year-old has turned heads across Europe with his sensational performances for Fulham and his tally of 16 goals and seven assists has put the club within a game of top-flight promotion.

Speaking to Cadena Ser, Jokanovic admitted that Sessegnon can feature anywhere on the left side of the pitch but he sees him progressing into more of attacking full-back like Marcelo, he said: “He can play in two positions, as left-back or at left wing, and that is why he is being compared to Bale. Bale also started in that position before he made the switch to become a more attacking player. From my point of view, Sessegnon can play in different roles but I honestly think he could be more like an offensive back of a big team, like Marcelo. He is an incredible player and I personally believe he will end up at a big club. We shall see.”

Gareth Bale Not Giving Up On His World Cup Dream

Wales international Gareth Bale has refused to give up on his World Cup dream, despite missing out on the global tournament in Russia this summer. The 28-year-old suffered a calf problem during the latter stages of Wales’ qualifying campaign, and he had to watch helplessly watch at his country were ousted by the Republic of Ireland.

Despite the disappointment, the attacker remains keen on realising his World Cup dream, and motivated to guide Wales to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, he said: “It was a massive disappointment for all of us not to reach the World Cup having experienced the Euros, which was incredible. But normally if we do well in one campaign we die away in the next. We were right there until the end, so we have to take the positives. Losing and missing out on the World Cup makes us even hungrier to qualify next time.”

Zinedine Zidane Dismisses Claims That Gareth Bale Is ‘Unhappy’

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has insisted that Gareth Bale is content with the proceedings in the Spanish Capital despite being in-and-out of the starting line-up. The Wales international has endured another injury-hit campaign with the European champions, and he has managed just 28 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 goals.

Recent reports from the Spanish media have suggested that the attacker could be leaning towards a return to the Premier League after being left out of the starting 11 against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, but Zidane has stressed that there is no concern of any sort with the former Tottenham man, he said: “Bale? No, no, (he is not unhappy). He is a player who is different in this sense. Everyone can have their own opinion, but I don’t think he is sad. He has proved that he is a very important player in this squad.” Continue reading Zinedine Zidane Dismisses Claims That Gareth Bale Is ‘Unhappy’

Guillem Balague rules out Gareth Bale return to Tottenham Hotspur

Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague has dismissed the possibility of Tottenham Hotspur re-signing Gareth Bale during the winter transfer window. The Wales international has found himself out-of-favour under Zinedine Zidane this term, and this has spread speculation of him pursuing a new challenge in the summer.

Spurs had a first-refusal clause inserted during Bale’s record move to Real Madrid back in the summer of 2013, but Balague appears to have ruled out their chances of luring the attacker back to north London. Mauricio Pochettino has previously spoken fondly about Bale, but Balague does not believe Spurs have the financial power to match Los Blancos’ demands.
